Title

Clean Energy Jobs in a Net-Zero World

Speaker

Dr. Stefan Pauer is a climate & energy expert and the Manager of Technology and Economic Analysis at Clean Energy Canada

Abstract

With the U.S. investing half a trillion dollars in clean energy and other countries quickly following suit, the global energy transition has become an impending reality. Indeed, the number of people working in clean energy jobs worldwide recently overtook fossil fuels for the first time. Based on a recent modelling study looking at a major oil-producing nation, Dr. Pauer will examine what Canada’s energy sector will look like in 2050 in a net-zero world. Spoiler alert: While emissions will plunge, energy jobs certainly will not.
