Austrian Scientists & Scholars
in North America

Toronto and South-Central Canada

About This Chapter

Welcome to ASciNA Toronto and South-Central Canada!

Description

The general mandates of ASciNA are twofold: to facilitate exchange among Austrian researchers and scholars working and living in North America and to represent both their interests and variety of research. The scientific background of ASciNA members reflects a wide range of disciplines across the humanities, social sciences, life sciences and applied sciences.

The specific mandates of each ASciNA chapter are:

  • to serve as a first contact point for graduate students, junior researchers and scholars who consider studying or working in Canada temporarily or permanently
  • to foster communication amongst the Austro-Canadian scientific community in a given geographical area.

As for the Toronto and South-Central Canada chapter: For meetings and general opportunities to socialize (such as cultural events, talks, etc.), please check the chapter’s online calendar regularly. New upcoming events are also announced by email.

Any scientist working and living in Toronto and/or South-Central Canada temporarily or permanently, is more than welcome to join our chapter!

The chapter was led by Andreas Strebinger between December 2018 and August 2022.

As of September 2022, Bence Viola is heading the chapter.
