The Greater Bay Area Chapter of ASciNA encompasses California between north of Santa Barbara and the Oregon border, and Nevada.
Established in May 2002, the Bay Area Chapter of ASciNA is among the oldest groups in the ASciNA network. The majority of members are scientists and scholars affiliated with Universities in Northern California and major companies in the Biotech and IT sectors in Silicon Valley.
We meet on a regular basis for socializing and exchange. One of our focuses is on mentoring new ASciNA members. We also host talks of members and visiting Austrian scientists, and organize career advisory events. The events are held in the South Bay, SF and the East Bay (alternatingly) to allow members from all areas to join. Carpools are organized upon request. We also connect at the (roughly) monthly Austrian Stammtisch in SF and the South Bay, that all Austrians are invited to join, scientists or not.
If you are an Austrian scientist visiting the Bay Area and would like to contribute a talk, please contact us at bay.area [at] ascina.at!
If you would like to receive email invitations to our events, please sign up for the Bay Area Chapter at http://www.ascina.at/benefits-of-membership/.
We are looking forward to meeting you! Please contact us at bay.area [at] ascina.at.
